TV Turn 50
Hello and welcome to television. This is what people heard and saw, come from Gary Stigall 50 years ago. It is televisions anniversarie this year and many a shows are featuring top fifty shows top fifty TV personal and the top fifty events that stopped the nation.
THE HISTORY OF TV…..
Charlie Abel was the first person to create TV. “I took it home and made a crystal radio.” Then he experimented with vacuum tubes. “I’d go to the filling station and for two bits I’d get a car battery that someone would turn in with one or two good cells, and I’d take that home to run my radios.” Charlie liked experimenting with radios and silent movies. After years of mucking around and testing he finally came up with a screen that could produce live pictures and live sound.
This was how TV was made.
TV THEN, TV NOW
In the mid-fifties when TV was made people were amused at how advanced it was yet today we don’t even acknowledge what TV has done for us and how far we have come with TV. We aren’t happy with a simple TV that does the job. We want television that we can control. Television today can be stopped and paused we can record the programs and transfer them on to disks. In the fifties TV was black and white and later developed in to colour .TV plays a big part in our lives. If we had no TV we would be behind on the news waiting for the newspaper, we would be lost, children: no entertainment, parents: no entertainment or news. TV has shaped our lives tremendously and probably for the better!
TOP FIFTY
There have been thousands of stars, shows and events which we have witnessed and watched on TV. To name a few TV brought us Graham Kennedy the king of television, and Paul Hogan, Beck Cartwright and the Wiggles, Brian Henderson of course Andrew G.
TV has brought us events and brakeing news that stopped a nation and stopped the world. I.e. the J.F.K assassination., and Princess Dina dying ,the tsunami and of cause September 11.
TV has brought us events through news, entertainment, and also giving us celebrities which givies us enjoyment as we watch them perform .
So welcome to television and enjoy.

Carlo High had a great day,on the 19th of July, it was Carlingford’s international day and it was going to be a hit. The day started of with people wearing the colours of their country and having people wearing traditional costumes later.
Before the day got underway yr 7 and yr 8 had scripture with a small recess afterwards. Then everyone was lines up on the quad to see the performances. This was where the fun began. There where students wearing colourful Chinese costumes and exotic dances took place. There was an array of different and interesting acts. From skits, instrumentals ranging from a German slap dance to a Korean flute song. There was also a celebration of fashion in the multicultural fashion parade.
A very special guest also came for the performances. Nesha from Rosslea came to perform her Indian dance to the dainties and she was only in year 4!!!!!!!
After the performances where over we where allowed to do as we please. There where stores we could visit and foods we could try. Many people helped out with the stores and games like trying to make London bridge fall and shoo t those hoops. It all came to an end when we had to clean up though.!!!!!
We had to start cleaning up our stalls and areas. Overall, International Day was good.

Well liam and fiona are my neiighbours lia is the name of one of my teacher and nickolas is my cousin.But how many of you knew that.
So why do we look up to them well celebz wound not be themselves if it went for the media all the media wants to do is sell, selll, sell.They create stories about celebrities because they knoe that we get sucked to liking and knoeing about people who are seen as being better than us.For eg I see teenage girls latly going oh my gosh you know that outift jess simpon had in her latest film clip im soooo getting that.Or for the guys its like Hey iif buy a shane wah mobil can i chat up the girls to?.You see we are encorage dby todays culture to be like them we want to live they fake myth of being them.
Yet some celebz use their fame to publacize good cases like aid for africa or ban bulling.Thse are the reasons we should looknup to them Thier good Qualities.However we should look up to ordinary heros like my nieghbour who batled cancer or the people who rescued the miners.
So buy your magazines but remember their are normal heros who are real.Now that i think aboiut it some peopel should wear the same clothes as their heros and thast everyday living clothes.
Late last term ms Ranor asked us to do a free topic speech.
I was so worried i mean last year i did so well becase i had time and preperation but with this speech i only had a week and a bit to start(cause i had sooooo much other homework and stuff.)
So anyway i had to come up with a topic .I was thinkin of………
- the cutest animal in the woorld the elephant
- Or the importance of langauge.
- Celebrities why do do we look up to them
- Or the enviroment
So anyway i chose celebs becaus i knew they are part off an important place in society and are admired by teen ager
So yeah my speech ended up goin great i got to go through to the nextlevelwhich is great…..

Mark Chopper Read was an infamous criminal and also author. There have been books about him, rap albums, beer holders and now there is a board game.
It uses bullets for pieces and starts at the dole office (where chopper began his careea as a criminal), and players visit bars, meet other famous Australian criminals, get caught by police, go to court, then go to jail, before finally making their way to Tasmania.The highlight of the game is the Russian ruleet.!!!!!! At the roll of the dice, the players put their fingers in a silver vice – and one of them gets a small electric shock.
I find this game stupid why should we enjoy playing a game about a criminal.These people should not be acnowledged for amusmeent.Mark Chopper himself said”It’s no longer illegal what I do these days but it’s bloody criminal what I get away with,” therefor in my opinion we should ;nt we look for ammusement in the idea of playing the life of Chopper.The only thing i like about this game is theat the players at one stage get busted by the cops.
I found that saving Francesca was a book in which I enjoyed reading through and through. The main feeling and themes that were expressed (hope love depression and family relations) made me think how lucky I really am. Mia is suffering from depression and is tearing the family apart!!!!!!! To make things better Francesca and her brother are sent to their grandmas. her dad tries to convince her that things will get better, but that seems to make matters worse.
A special boy that Francesca meets at her new school he’s the footy team’s captain and an all round nice guy; until Fran finds that William has a girlfriend but yet.yet he is always with Francesca and is sometimes flirting with her. Of course Francesca fall for him and her heart is broken when she finds out the truth.That is just thhe start wait til next few days for more info!!!!
